Solar Chargers
| Solar chargers have come a long way in last few years. A solar charger will recharge mobile phones and other personal devices like Ipods and MP4 players. These handy solar gadgets will enble you to recharge anywhere. Solar chargers range from pocket-sized solar cells with internal batteries that are suitable for charging mobile phones and personal devices to larger portable solar panels designed to charge up an external battery to provide power for portable appliances when traveling or camping. A larger solar charger will generate more watts and charge up a battery faster than a smaller and lower wattage solar panel would. The solar charger battery size determines how much power it can store before you need to recharge it. A solar charger with an internal Li-Ion battery of 3000mAh will hold 3 times the charge of a 1000mAh battery. Solar Chargers are designed to supply a certain voltage, so you would usually need a charger that can supply 9 volts to charge up your camera, but only need 4 or 5 volts to charge your mobile phone. Some chargers are capable of providing a range of voltages in order to be more versatile. With a solar charger you will extend the portabilty of your electronic devices and small appliances. The Soldius solar charger (pictured right) even has MPPT technology, a first for solar chargers.
