12 volt LED Lamps for Caravan and Boat, designed for Australian conditions.
Many of our LED lamps are manufactured to the highest standards from high impact polycarbonate and die cast aluminium to comply with Australian standards. Most of our led lights carry a 5 year warranty because they are so reliable as they are constructed of tough rubber, high density polycarbonate or die-cast aluminium.
Why use LED Lamps?
LED lights are ideal lighting for camping and caravan and outdoors recreation. Our LED lighting units are very powerful yet only use only a fraction of the power of regular Halogen lamps. Many are fully waterproof and are able to be installed in wet and sea spray areas.
Where are these LED Lamps used?
These LED lamps use 12Volt and 24Volt DC power, so they can mounted on vehicles, boats and caravans.
Travellers and campers will find they are the best lighting for use with stand-alone solar power systems and portable solar panels because they work well from low voltage DC power and their low power consumption means they last longer on a limited power source.
LED lights are safe.
LEDs are solid state electronic components, they are actually a type of diode encased in hard epoxy and will withstand a lot of harsh treatment without breaking. When you switch an LED light on it will produce full light instantly and is cool to the touch and will not burn curious little fingers, making them safe for use around little children.
Led lights are versatile and look good.
Use LED lighting in applications where instant light is needed for emergency lighting. When used to replace standard incandescent bulbs they can be used in dimming circuits and they don’t turn yellowish when dim. They don’t have electronic ballasts like CFLs so will not cause radio and TV interference as Fluorescent lights sometimes do. LED lights are useful for outdoor night lights because they don’t emit UV light, which attracts insects as other lights do.
Waterproof, Shockproof and Rustproof LED lamps
Our LED lamps are installed on all types of vehicles, caravans and boats because they are vibration and shock proof and waterproof for use as marine and boating lights, in fact they are fully submersible. The LED Lamps are manufactured from either die-cast alloy, hard rubber or durable ABS plastic and have stainless steel fittings to last a lifetime.
LED Floodlights and Spotlights
Some models are available with narrow pencil beams, for use as spotlights on RVs and road vehicles, or wide beam flood lights for area lighting. The large LED flood lights have a 120° light beam spread, while the small lights have a 50° spread. The largest and most powerful of the LED lights have a combination of both flood and spot beams to provide an amazing amount of light.

Q: What size battery and solar panel would I need to power 4 of the BL102W LED work lamps?
A: One of the BL102W work lamps draw 0.08 amps at 13.8 volts. Taking system losses into consideration, let's assume it's 0.1 amps. So 4 times that is 0.4 amps. The battery size depends on how long it needs to provide power. In one hour the four lamps would drain 0.4 Ah ( amp- hours) from the battery, so a 2.4 Ah battery would power them for 6 hours before it went completely flat.
But the battery should not be drained to less than half charge (50% DOD)because that will shorten the life of the battery, usually choose a battery big enough to hold twice the required capacity, so in this case you would choose a 4.8 Ah battery or larger. The solar panel needs to recharge the battery every day so in this case it needs to put 2.4AH back into the battery. A 2 watt solar panel generates about 0.1 amps in bright sunlight so in one day it would generate about 0.6 Ah (we usually work on 6 hours of good sunlight a day) In this case you would need at least 4 times that power output so I would recommend a 10 watt solar panel.
