Compared to the older 3 blade 500W wind generator the 5 blade model offers many improvements in features and performance.

The rotational diameter is significantly reduced by 35cm which also gives the added benefits of much lower rotational speed and lower noise levels, increasing reliability and safety of lower rotational speeds.

The 5 blade design has far greater electrical efficiency in converting wind energy into electrical energy. This means that  compared to a 3-blade wind generator, this unit provides around 60% more power in low wind areas with average wind speeds of 5m/s or less.

Besides the benefits and features of the 5-blade rotating assembly, this wind generator features 3-phase AC output from the generator head to the external charge controller, with slip rings fitted to eliminate the possibility of cable breakage from rotation.

The operational and design features include 3-phase permanent magnet alternator, external regulator box and simple flat style blades. The 24 volt output allows long cable runs from the generator head to the battery bank with less voltage drop losses. The unit also features slip rings on the generator head to avoid cable breakages. 
 
The WFD500W Wind Generator is an advanced 500W alternator/ charge controller system designed to charge batteries and supply electrical power in a 24VDC system. When used in conjunction with a suitable DC to AC sine-wave inverter and battery bank, the generator can also provide high voltage AC for powering mains type AC appliances.
