Choosing a Solar Charger

Your choice of solar charger depends on 3 main requirements

1. The type of device to be solar charged
   Most of the solar chargers used for charging mobile phones are basically the same and will recharge all of the mobile phones on the market as long as they have the right adapter tip to connect to the phone.
   But some devices require removal of the battery to recharge it and a standard universal solar charger wont work. They require a more specialized  type of solar charger like the SBC23 that is able to recharge prismatic Li-Ion batteries like those used in digital cameras and have to be removed for recharging. The SBC23 can recharge mobile phones as well, a handy little solar charger indeed!
    
2. The size of the device's battery
   Some devices have larger batteries, for instance an iPhone with a 1200 mAh battery has almost double the battery power as an old Nokia's 700 Ah battery and will need more solar power and battery storage for a full recharge so the SBC15 with almost 2 watts of solar power and a 2000mAh battery would be a better option than a smaller solar charger.
    
3. The voltage required to recharge the device's battery
   Neither of the solar chargers mentioned before will be able to recharge a notebook or laptop because they both only output about 5 to 6 volts while a laptop battery needs between 15 to 24 volts. The solar charger used for these applications needs large solar panels that provide a higher voltage and then also need a larger storage battery to hold enough charge to recharge a laptop battery so you would need something like the Solargorilla  and  Powergorilla combination.
   (Another option might be to use a 5 watt 12V solar panel to charge up a small 6 Ah 12V battery then use a car charger adapter connected to the battery to recharge your laptop).

There are other minor requirements depending on your personal solar charging preferences
Do you want to use it indoors on a sunny window sill or do you intend to carry it in your backpack to use outdoors? Solar chargers are versatile enough to be used anywhere but they do have varied features for special uses like this mobile phone solar charger that has suction pads that stick to a window.

Generally speaking, If a device can be recharged by a USB port  via a charging socket then it can be charged by a universal solar charger. Cameras that require the battery to be removed and charged externally can only be solar charged by certain types of solar battery chargers...
