Average daily solar exposure for Australia for each month

These maps show the average daily global solar exposure over Australia each month for the period 1990 to 2011.
Global solar exposure is the total amount of solar energy falling on a horizontal surface.
The daily global solar exposure is the total solar energy for a day, and is typically between 1 and 35 MJ/m2 (megajoules per square meter).
Divide MJ/m2 by 3.6 to find peak sun hours. Pk sun hrs are used to calculate the electrical power a solar panel will generate on a sunny day. For example, when charging a 12 volt battery, a 20 watt solar panel will generate a current of around 1 amp in bright sunlight, so if there are 5 pk sun hrs then the solar panel will generate 5Ah of battery charge in one day.
